Quantity Surveying Graduate Programme

About the role

Babcock's Quantity Surveying Graduate Programme is based in Devonport, Plymouth, and supports the commercial management of major infrastructure projects at HM Naval Base Devonport, the largest naval base in Western Europe. It is a two-year programme made up of four six-month placements, starting in September 2027, with a minimum starting salary of £35,000 depending on location, role and qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Support quotations, manage change, review applications for payment and contribute to subcontract tendering and management
• Work under NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and Professional Service Contract (PSC) terms and conditions and various pricing options
• Work closely with the Ministry of Defence and the supply chain on complex, technically challenging projects
• Spend several days a week on site; occasional overtime may be needed to support project delivery

Required profile

• An accredited RICS degree in Quantity Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management or Construction Management (minimum 2:2), or a Master's in Quantity Surveying
• Ability to achieve and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance
• Eligible only as a sole UK national under national security legislation
