Quantity Surveyor – Building Safety (Southwest & Wales)

About the role

Bouygues UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (or Senior Quantity Surveyor) to join its Building Safety team, supporting recladding projects across the Southwest and Wales region. Based in the Bristol office, the role combines office‑based cost management with regular site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare initial cost estimates from consultant and in‑house technical inputs and develop detailed budgets as information evolves.
• Generate accurate quantities from drawings and assist the project lead in preparing contractor proposals.
• Procure consultants and subcontractors in line with Bouygues UK procedures, ensuring robust contractual agreements.
• Manage financial and contractual aspects of sub‑contracts, including timely payment applications and monthly financial reporting.
• Maintain comprehensive records on site to support any recovery actions.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Director on mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Support the project lead by attending site meetings and contributing to internal and external reports.
• Review third‑party claims with the technical manager and produce detailed assessments.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
• Ability to produce timely monthly financial reports that accurately forecast costs.
• Strong commercial awareness and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good understanding of company reporting timetables, tools and procedures.
