Quantity Surveyor – Building Safety (Southwest & Wales)

About the role

Bouygues UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (or Senior Quantity Surveyor) to join its Building Safety team, supporting recladding projects across the Southwest and Wales region. Based in our Bristol office, the role involves both office‑based cost management and regular site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare initial cost estimates from consultant and in‑house technical findings and update them into detailed budgets as project data evolves.
• Produce accurate quantity take‑offs from drawings and support the project lead in preparing contractor proposals.
• Procure consultants and subcontractors in line with BYUK procedures, ensuring robust contractual agreements.
• Manage financial and contractual aspects of consultants and subcontractors, including timely payment applications and monthly financial reporting.
• Maintain project records to support recovery actions and collaborate with the Commercial Director on mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Assist the project lead with site meetings, internal and external reporting, and assessment of third‑party claims.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or large subcontractor.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to produce accurate monthly financial forecasts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within company reporting timetables and procedures.
