Quantity Surveyor – Commercial & Operational Team

About the role

We are expanding our commercial team in Romsey, near Southampton, and are looking for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated commercial and operational department. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from public sector refurbishments to private residential schemes, with a strong focus on painting and decorating works.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tenders, estimates and on‑site measurements for a range of construction projects.
• Manage CVRs and valuations, ensuring accurate cost reporting.
• Develop and maintain schedules of rates and apply them across projects.
• Oversee direct labour teams, monitor timesheets and control labour costs.
• Collaborate with project managers to deliver refurbishment, new‑build and maintenance contracts.

Required profile

• Formal qualifications or training in surveying or a related field.
• Experience working with direct labour teams and handling timesheets.
• Familiarity with painting, decorating, brickwork, plastering or roofing works.
• Ability to work on multiple contracts and meet tight deadlines.
