Quantity Surveyor – Construction & Commercial Projects

About the role

United Utilities is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Kendal. You will work on large-scale, sustainable water infrastructure projects that support the North West’s growth while protecting the environment. The role combines construction expertise with stakeholder management across a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a business-critical team delivering major water utility projects.
• Manage contracts from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with commercial terms.
• Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies for project delivery.
• Oversee supplier performance, cost control and value engineering activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align project objectives and timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of contract administration, commercial risk and cost management.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
