Quantity Surveyor – Construction Consultancy

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic, employee‑owned consultancy in Essex. The role offers exposure to a varied portfolio of education, residential and healthcare projects ranging from £250,000 to £50 million, with responsibility for the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies and detailed cost plans at all project stages.
• Produce tender documentation, analyse bids and compile recommendation reports.
• Administer contracts and provide commercial advice throughout delivery.
• Manage project costs, interim valuations and final accounts.
• Support procurement, cost planning and contract administration activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction qualification.
• 4–5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in a consultancy or contractor setting.
• Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, contract administration and commercial management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
