Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Balvac, a specialist division of Balfour Beatty, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. Working primarily from the Warrington office two days a week, you will support pre‑ and post‑contract activities on structural concrete repair, strengthening, protection and refurbishment projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage commercial strategy to support profitability of allocated schemes.
• Maintain contract cost reporting systems and produce accurate cost forecasts.
• Monitor costs to completion, manage budgets, variations and change orders.
• Administer subcontractor tenders, placements and accounts.
• Prepare applications for payment, cash‑flow forecasts and valuation plans.
• Support project reviews, monthly reporting and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty’s commercial standards and promote a Zero Harm safety culture.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil, infrastructure, concrete repair, highways or structural works.
• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying.
• Strong working knowledge of construction law, contracts (including NEC), tendering and procurement.
