Quantity Surveyor

About the role

RGB Recruitment is partnering with a respected construction specialist that delivers commercial and industrial new‑build, refurbishment and fit‑out projects. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a collaborative, forward‑thinking team and support a strong pipeline of work. The role offers commercial responsibility from the tender stage through to final account, providing real influence on project success.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications and scopes to produce detailed cost plans.
• Prepare competitive tenders covering labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Lead the preparation and submission of ITTs, PQQs and tender documentation.
• Source, negotiate and secure best‑value subcontractors and suppliers.
• Present bids to clients, attend interviews and respond to commercial queries.
• Manage risk, value‑engineering and cost‑control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Price and negotiate variations with contract administrators.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree final accounts.
• Assess subcontractor tenders, award packages and manage subcontract accounts from procurement to completion.
• Measure, value and certify works on‑site and certify subcontractor payment applications.
• Forecast labour, plant and material costs and maintain margin improvement plans.
• Proactively manage disputes and drive commercial best practice.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven experience in a similar construction role.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3, NEC4 and JCT contracts.
• High commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to pass D&A testing and BPSS vetting.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £55,000 and £65,000 per year.
