Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team at a leading geotechnical contracting group. The role will provide commercial support across projects, ensuring contractual entitlements are recovered, cash flow is optimised and risks are managed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and negotiate interim and final accounts.
• Liaise with clients and attend project meetings.
• Manage cash collection and maximise cash flow.
• Identify, prepare and settle variations and claims.
• Provide commercial and operational support to ensure contractual notices are complied with.
• Maintain accurate records and assist in programme monitoring with Operations.
• Produce internal monthly reports, comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts.
• Work closely with Operations to identify and resolve commercial or performance issues early.
• Procure, pay and manage subcontractors in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in civil engineering.
• Professional membership (e.g., RICS or ICES) is advantageous.
• Experience in piling projects is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC and ICE contract forms.
• Proven ability to review contracts and negotiate amendments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
