Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Robertson Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Glasgow team. You will work closely with operational management to manage contract and commercial matters, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the operational management team and advise on all contract and commercial issues.
• Maintain accurate financial control systems and produce monthly Cost/Value reconciliation reports.
• Advise on financial aspects of contracts, maximise valuations, certify and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor site progress and issue required notices in line with contract procedures.
• Prepare cost and value forecasts for all trades, including preliminaries, and report on them.
• Develop preliminaries budgets with contract staff and track performance.
• Vet quotations against specifications to secure competitive bids.
• Conduct regular meetings to agree variations and avoid final‑account disputes.
• Manage subcontractor accounts accurately to enhance contract performance.
• Support the Operations Team in securing labour, materials and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policy and Quality Manual.

Required profile

• Qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant experience.
• Proven background in managing budgets and delivering services to a high standard.
• Demonstrable experience in Quantity Surveying within a relevant construction sector.
