Quantity Surveyor – MEP/Construction (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with MEP and construction experience to join NG Bailey’s commercial team in Glasgow. The role is permanent and offers the chance to support project profitability through accurate cost control, payment applications and variation management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety focus and ensure compliance with legal and company policies on the project.
• Interpret contract terms, manage risks and opportunities, and protect contractual entitlements.
• Prepare and submit payment applications, variations and compensation claims.
• Support sub‑contract account management through to final settlement.
• Monitor progress with operational teams and provide accurate internal reporting.
• Ensure timely delivery of project reports, certificates, and tender allowances.
• Assist in negotiating final account settlement with the client.

Required profile

• Experience in MEP/building services or main‑build construction at Quantity Surveyor level.
• Ability to obtain security clearance for the project.
• Understanding of contract administration, risk management and cost control.
• Relevant BSc/degree or equivalent is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction contracts and variation processes.
• Proficiency in preparing payment applications and cost reports.
