Quantity Surveyor – Planned Works & Refurbishments

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading social housing contractor in Hertfordshire. The role focuses on delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment projects across the South region, supporting decarbonisation initiatives and ensuring commercial excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Control all project expenditure and reconcile cost/value reports.
• Prepare profit forecasts and manage cash‑flow throughout the contract.
• On‑board subcontractors and suppliers, processing payment applications and invoices.
• Conduct financial assessments to ensure value for money.
• Monitor day‑to‑day cost control, reporting and variance analysis.
• Attend project and company meetings, maintaining strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Proven experience with a main contractor on social‑housing refurbishment programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness and track record of delivering contracts on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of supply‑chain management and the CVR process.
• RICS or CIOB membership is preferred.
