Quantity Surveyor – Power Transmission & Distribution

About the role

Our client, a global leader in engineering, architecture and construction, is seeking a Staff Quantity Surveyor for its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business. The role provides commercial support on live power projects and tender opportunities, ensuring financial performance and contract compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly internal reports using CVR and commercial management procedures.
• Submit client‑side monthly reports in line with contract requirements.
• Develop activity schedules and monthly valuations to optimise cash flow and manage subcontractor accounts.
• Drive recovery of outstanding monies and resolve queries promptly.
• Identify commercial risks, value‑engineering opportunities and manage change events from early warning to implementation.
• Produce cost estimates, subcontract enquiries for tender proposals and compensation events.
• Maintain payment timescales and manage sub‑contracts through to final account agreement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications.
• Relevant experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector (preferred).
• Familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contract forms (Options A and C).
• Strong computer literacy, especially MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, handling multiple projects and competing deadlines.
