Quarry Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Quarry Manager to lead operations at Kennetholme Quarry, part of Grundon Sand & Gravel. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant quarry activities while supporting restoration and mobile operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support the site team to work safely, efficiently and productively, fostering an inclusive culture.
• Oversee all quarry operations, ensuring compliance with Quarry Regulations 1999, company policies and site plans.
• Manage material processing and plant performance to meet production targets, quality standards and operational efficiency.
• Implement and monitor safe systems of work, risk assessments and preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records and reporting defects.
• Act as the responsible person for health, safety, environmental and welfare performance, including emergency situations.
• Monitor budgets, maintenance and inspections, driving continuous improvement.
• Support cross‑site operations and provide COTC coverage for restoration activities.
• Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects as directed by management.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing quarry or similar heavy‑industry operations.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, especially Quarry Regulations 1999.
• Ability to lead and develop a diverse site team.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday with occasional additional hours or site cover.
