Quarry Operative – Full‑time role in Pitlochry

About the role

Breedon Group plc is seeking a reliable Quarry Operative to join its Pitlochry site. You will work hands‑on in a busy quarry environment, helping to extract, crush and process aggregates while adhering to strict health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile and fixed plant such as dump trucks, loading shovels, crushers and screeners safely and efficiently.
• Assist in extraction, crushing and processing of raw materials to meet production targets.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning and basic maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Load and unload materials for transport or further processing.
• Follow daily work schedules and production instructions from supervisors.
• Conduct regular safety checks, report hazards, defects or incidents.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised quarry site.
• Support site inspections and operational audits as required.

Required profile

• Competence in operating an excavator; CPCS or MPQC card is advantageous.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for simple maintenance tasks.
• Understanding of health and safety practices and willingness to follow procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Safety‑focused, reliable, punctual and self‑motivated.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to shift patterns.
