Quarry Process Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Quarry Process Operator to join our team at the Dunbar Cement Plant. The role involves supporting the quarry production department, ensuring safety compliance, and helping meet production targets in a 24/7 operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow production plans to meet plant demand and adjust to additional site tasks.
• Maintain the highest safety standards and conduct risk and stop assessments.
• Monitor daily quarry production activities, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
• Ensure compliance with quarry regulations and relevant legislation.
• Organise work efficiently, plan resources, and meet timelines and cost guidelines.
• Perform first‑level inspections of operating equipment and implement improvements.
• Operate and maintain mobile plant (bulldozers, dump trucks) and fixed plant (crushers, conveyors).
• Follow energy isolation procedures and support environmental responsibilities.

Required profile

• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and on a 24/7 schedule, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Ability to use fixed and mobile plant equipment safely.
• Experience with quarry blasting and shotfiring operations.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
