Radial Depot Manager

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Radial Depot Manager to lead its Exeter distribution depot, serving convenience retailers and forecourts across the South West. You will be responsible for ensuring the depot operates safely, efficiently and meets the evolving needs of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a depot team across a 5‑of‑7 shift pattern, ensuring engagement and performance.
• Review labour requirements, create cost‑effective resource plans and align capability with business needs.
• Maintain safety standards, compliance with group policy and upkeep of facilities and assets.
• Monitor transport fleet utilisation and maintenance to meet internal and legal standards.
• Take first‑line responsibility for all people‑management issues on site.
• Execute operational plans that control spend and guarantee timely delivery of customer orders.
• Ensure accurate administrative procedures and audit‑ready reporting.
• Track KPIs and budget performance, driving continuous improvement in picking, packing and loading processes.
• Support the commercial team in building relationships and preparing the depot for changing customer requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage labour planning and cost‑control initiatives.
• Experience overseeing fleet operations and maintenance.
• Excellent people‑management skills, including handling first‑line HR issues.
• Analytical mindset for monitoring KPIs, budgets and driving improvements.
