Rail Shunter – Rolling Stock Operations

About the role
This position is based in a busy rolling‑stock manufacturing facility in Goole, supporting the construction of a new London Underground fleet. You will work on‑site, shunting rail vehicles and bogies while upholding the highest safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Shunt and move rolling‑stock units and bogies using tow trucks or vehicle power.
- Act as banksman, directing vehicle manoeuvres and ensuring clear routes.
- Maintain strict health and safety standards during all movements.
- Assist with loading and unloading of components within the manufacturing facility.
Required profile
- Experience working with large vehicles or machinery, preferably in rolling‑stock or rail environments.
- Valid HGV/FLT/PSV licence or equivalent experience with tracked vehicles.
- Ability to pass mandatory drugs and alcohol testing.
- Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00 and adapt to movement schedules.
Required skills
- Tow truck operation.
- Vehicle shunting and manoeuvring.
- Banksman spotting and route clearance.
What we offer
- Hourly rate £22.12 PAYE or £28.22 on umbrella, rising to £29.73 after 12 weeks.
- Full‑time 40‑hour week in a state‑of‑the‑art facility.
- Opportunity to work on the new London Underground fleet project.
