R&D Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer in AVEVA’s Cloud Unified Engineering team, you will design, build and operate SaaS services on AWS that deliver Unified Engineering products to industrial customers. The position is based in Cambridge, UK and works in a hybrid model, offering exposure to server‑less APIs, desktop streaming and Windows‑centric cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop highly available AWS SaaS components, including API Gateway/Lambda services and event‑driven workflows.
• Implement identity and access integrations (SCIM) with AVEVA CONNECT.
• Operate and optimise desktop streaming (Amazon WorkSpaces) and Windows infrastructure (EC2, FSx, Active Directory, DynamoDB) with strong observability and cost focus.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Azure Pipelines, CloudFormation and Step Functions.
• Write clean, tested, documented code and collaborate in agile planning, troubleshooting and risk communication.

• Programming languages: C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Node.js.
• Windows‑centric cloud services: Active Directory, FSx.
