Reactive Resolution Support Operative (Contractor)

About the role

The Reactive Resolution Support Operative provides proactive support to United Utilities' Waste Water Treatment Works fleet. Working on shift transitions, the operative prepares tools, equipment and vehicles, manages stores and ensures the yard is safe, tidy and ready for operations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and emergency plant kits, report defects to the Drainage Delivery Manager and log them in the transport system.
• Prepare Cityflex vans, pack units and emergency kits for rapid deployment.
• Carry out first‑line maintenance on vehicles, emergency plant, stores and specialist equipment.
• Calibrate and certify man‑entry equipment and gas detectors.
• Maintain yard cleanliness in line with health & safety and transport standards.
• Manage store access, record stock levels and raise orders through the Drainage Support Officer.
• Audit vehicle cleanliness and safety compliance before vehicles leave the yard.

Required profile

• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 30 hours per week, on‑site at the Kendal WWTW.
• Strong attention to health & safety procedures and good organisational skills.
• Experience with vehicle inspection and basic maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to follow training, TBRAs and GRAs for equipment handling.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £15.64
• 30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract
