About the role
Our client, a leading Scottish law firm, is expanding its renewables practice and seeks a Real Estate Renewables Solicitor to work on high‑profile energy and infrastructure projects. The role is hybrid, based in Edinburgh, and offers the chance to develop specialist expertise within a collaborative legal team.
Key responsibilities
- Advise landowners, developers and stakeholders on renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, battery storage and hydro schemes.
- Negotiate and draft property agreements for project development, acquisition, financing and disposals.
- Support clients on compulsory purchase matters and broader property aspects of infrastructure projects.
- Manage client relationships and act as a trusted adviser on complex land and property issues.
- Collaborate with property, tax, private client, business law and dispute resolution teams to deliver integrated advice.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 2‑3 years PQE in Scottish property law.
- Experience in renewables, energy or infrastructure‑related property matters.
- Commercially aware with strong technical and drafting abilities.
- Ability to manage varied, complex work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and client‑relationship skills.
