Reception Teacher – Maternity Cover (Primary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Reception Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2026 in a vibrant primary school in Leyland, Lancashire. The role involves delivering engaging early years lessons and supporting the development of young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver effective Reception lessons aligned with the Early Years curriculum.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of ability levels.
• Focus pupils on class work and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and qualified teachers within the Early Years department.
• Monitor pupil progress and adjust provision to ensure each child reaches their potential.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Reception Teacher with relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum and child development.
• Ability to plan provision for diverse learners.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo DBS and reference checks.
