Recoveries Claims Handler – Motor Insurance

About the role

Spotlightjobs is seeking an experienced Recoveries Claims Handler to join its growing motor‑insurance team in Liverpool. You will own the end‑to‑end management of non‑fault motor insurance claims, applying technical judgement, commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills to achieve the best outcomes for the business and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage non‑fault repair, recovery and uninsured loss claims from initiation to settlement.
• Assess liability, indemnity and financial aspects of each claim and make timely decisions.
• Maintain accurate reserves, claim records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Negotiate subrogated outlays, manage aged debt and authorise payments within delegated authority.
• Collaborate with suppliers, solicitors and third‑party partners to progress claims efficiently.
• Handle inbound enquiries from customers, suppliers and legal representatives, delivering a professional experience.
• Contribute insights and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Recoveries team.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of motor insurance, non‑fault processes, liability and subrogation.
• Excellent analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable taking ownership of a caseload.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Clear, confident communicator with strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
