Recruitment & Compliance Coordinator – Term Time Only

About the role

We are seeking a Recruitment & Compliance Coordinator to support a leading education organisation on a term‑time basis. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle while ensuring every hire meets safeguarding and statutory compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment from vacancy approval through onboarding.
• Guarantee all recruitment activities comply with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and safer recruitment guidance.
• Conduct pre‑employment checks: enhanced DBS, right‑to‑work, identity, employment history, professional qualifications, references and statutory prohibitions.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and keep the Single Central Record up to date.
• Support managers with recruitment campaigns, interview scheduling and onboarding.
• Identify compliance risks, recommend improvements and assist with internal/external audits.
• Stay current with changes in employment legislation, KCSIE and best‑practice recruitment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recruitment, HR or compliance within an education or safeguarding‑focused environment.
• Strong working knowledge of KCSIE and Safer Recruitment principles.
• Proven ability to manage statutory pre‑employment checks and maintain compliance records.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
