About the role
We are seeking a Recycling Operative to provide temporary day‑shift cover for a busy waste and recycling company in Portsmouth. The role runs Monday to Friday, 06:30‑17:30, and offers a competitive hourly rate.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a picking line and sort commercial and domestic waste from skips.
- Separate wood, metal and plastic into designated bins.
- Lift, move and load materials safely.
- Ensure materials meet recycling standards before processing.
- Wear personal protective equipment, report hazards and work safely around plant machinery.
Required profile
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
