Recycling Site Manager

About the role

The Recycling Site Manager will lead a team of bales, recycling operatives and cleaners at our client’s facility in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire. You will ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations while meeting production KPIs and maintaining a world‑class site standard.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of operatives, ensuring induction and H&S compliance.
• Lead SHEQ activities, conduct risk assessments, SOP updates and safety inspections.
• Maintain site housekeeping to audit‑ready standards and oversee waste and product quarantine processes.
• Monitor and report KPI performance, creating action plans for improvement.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to keep plant and equipment clean, serviced and repaired.
• Oversee warehousing, goods‑in and dispatch operations, ensuring accurate stock checks.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S and Root Cause Analysis.
• Conduct performance appraisals, coaching and manage PIP/PDP processes for direct reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing site‑based teams in recycling or waste environments.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet production targets and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑department collaboration.
