Refrigeration Engineer – Medical Equipment (Southampton)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Refrigeration Engineer to join a leading provider of mobile medical accommodation. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems on medical units operating primarily in the South of England.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair HVAC, AC and refrigeration plant on mobile medical units.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults, both scheduled and reactive.
• Travel to sites within a 4‑hour radius of Southampton, with occasional nationwide assignments.
• Participate in an on‑call rota (1 in 4 weeks) and respond to emergency call‑outs.
• Complete paperwork and service records in line with health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Refrigeration or HVAC Engineer.
• Holder of an F‑Gas Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work flexible hours.
• Experience with mobile or medical refrigeration equipment is desirable.

• Salary £40,000‑£50,000 per year (OTE up to £65,000 with overtime).
