Refrigeration Engineer – Supermarket Estate (Birmingham/Stafford)

About the role

This permanent position is for an experienced refrigeration engineer working on a major UK supermarket estate. You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across multiple retail sites, with a clearly defined patch and a structured on‑call rota.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across retail sites.
• Work with CO₂ refrigeration pack systems.
• Diagnose faults and recommend repair or replacement.
• Complete PPMs, reactive work and repairs during scheduled store visits.
• Carry out small alterations and installations within your competence.

Required profile

• NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
• F‑Gas Category 1 certification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration (training provided for hydrocarbon and CO₂ systems).
• Electrical fault‑finding / Wiring Reg (18th Edition) knowledge.
