Refrigeration Service Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a field‑based Refrigeration Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business in the Luton, Bedford & Cambridge area. This full‑time permanent position involves servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial refrigeration and cold‑room equipment for a variety of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out service, maintenance and repair work on commercial refrigeration and cold‑room systems.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on‑site and implement corrective actions.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdown call‑outs.
• Conduct site surveys, ensure safe working practices and complete accurate service reports.
• Build strong relationships with customers while maintaining thorough job documentation.

Required profile

• Previous experience servicing, maintaining or installing cold rooms, commercial refrigeration or HVAC systems.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience with both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Professional customer‑service attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
