Refrigeration Service Engineer (Medical Equipment)

About the role

Join a family‑owned specialist provider of mobile medical cabins as a Refrigeration Service Engineer. You will receive full training on medical chillers, benefit from clear progression routes and have the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime and on‑call work.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in mobile medical units.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues, both scheduled and reactive.
• Work Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm with extensive overtime (1.5x pay, 2x on Sundays).
• Participate in an on‑call rota (one week in four) with additional pay.
• Cover a patch mainly within a 4‑hour radius of Southampton, with occasional nationwide travel.

Required profile

• Qualified Refrigeration or HVAC Engineer.
• Holder of an F‑Gas Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the South of England and nationally.

Required skills

• HVAC system knowledge.
• Refrigeration system expertise, including cold‑water chillers and fridge units.
• F‑Gas handling certification.
• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration/AC.

• Salary £40,000‑£50,000 per year (OTE up to £70,000 with overtime and on‑call).
