About the role
We are seeking a reliable Refuse Driver to join a temporary, full‑time team in Chelmsford. You will operate an HGV to collect household and business waste and recyclables, ensuring safe and courteous service to the public.
Key responsibilities
- Collect residential waste, recycling and wheelie bins across Chelmsford.
- Load bags, bins and boxes onto the lorry using the vehicle’s lifting mechanism.
- Tip waste from bins into the lorry and secure loads for transport.
- Report any collection issues or equipment problems.
- Assist waste collection operatives as required.
Required profile
- Physically fit and able to work quickly and cleanly.
- Team‑oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Flexible to adapt to changing work circumstances.
- Available to work 6:30‑7:00 am start, 9.25 hours per day, Tuesday‑Friday.
Required skills
- Valid HGV licence.
- CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card.
What we offer
- Hourly rate between £15.88 and £17.76.
- 37 hours per week with overtime opportunities.
- Temporary contract providing steady work in a supportive team.
