Refuse Loader – Waste Collection Operative (Temp to Perm)

About the role
Join Chelmsford City Council’s waste collection team as a Refuse Loader. Working in a small crew of up to three, you will help deliver a reliable waste and recycling service to local residents in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and load waste and recycling from designated routes.
- Maintain a proactive, ‘can‑do’ attitude to complete duties efficiently.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed while on site.
Required profile
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Commitment to providing good customer service.

- None specified – on‑the‑job training provided.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13.92 with an increase after three months of service.
