Regional Care Assistant (Bank)

About the role

This is a casual, flexible bank position with Barchester Healthcare, covering several care homes within a 20‑mile radius of Eaglestone West. You will travel to Ashby House, Juniper House and Collingtree Park to provide warm, empathetic support for elderly residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide cover across multiple care homes as needed, including Ashby House (MK6 5LS), Juniper House (NN13 6JZ) and Collingtree Park (NN4 0XN).
• Monitor and deliver care during shifts, ensuring residents receive person‑centred support.
• Contribute to care planning for each resident and record vital observations such as temperature and blood pressure.
• Offer companionship and one‑to‑one time with residents on every shift.

Required profile

• Previous experience in elderly care or a related care setting.
• Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care (desirable) and a good understanding of the wider healthcare industry.
• GCSE C or above in English and Maths.
• Own vehicle or reliable access to a car, with mileage reimbursement beyond five miles.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and days as required.

Required skills

• Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to record vital signs accurately.
• Basic numeracy and literacy for care documentation.
