Registered Children’s Home Manager – Gravesend

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Manager to lead a new three‑bed children’s home in Gravesend, Kent. The role involves caring for young people aged 8‑18 with emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, ensuring a high quality of care and supporting their development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the 3‑bed home, supporting up to 8‑18 year‑olds with EBD, SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Work closely with the Responsible Individual and Regional Managers to maintain compliance with the Children’s Act and home regulations.
• Lead, motivate and develop staff, ensuring effective teamwork and collaboration with external agencies.
• Implement safeguarding procedures and act as designated safeguarding lead.
• Drive continuous improvement and quality standards to achieve good‑to‑outstanding ratings.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Manager in a Children’s Home rated good to outstanding.
• At least 2 years senior support experience within a children’s residential setting.
• Experience working with children who have mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes regulations (2015) and safeguarding procedures.
• Relevant qualifications – Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards them).
