Registered Children's Manager – Solo Residential Home (including short breaks)

About the role

The Registered Children’s Manager will lead and develop a solo residential children’s home that also provides short‑break placements. This full‑time position is responsible for delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and related quality standards.
• Provide leadership, direction and day‑to‑day management of staff, including recruitment, rota planning, supervision and performance management.
• Develop and uphold a positive, safeguarding‑focused culture that promotes dignity, inclusion and respect for every child.
• Oversee care planning, ensuring each child’s individual needs, wishes and outcomes are met.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead or ensure appropriate safeguarding arrangements are in place.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare for Ofsted inspections and implement action plans from regulatory reviews.
• Foster effective communication with families, schools, health professionals and other external partners.

Required profile

• Qualified to work as a Registered Manager for children’s homes in England.
• Proven experience managing residential settings for children and young people with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
