Registered Manager – 5‑Bed Children’s Home

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead our 5‑bed Ofsted‑registered children’s home in Stanford‑le‑Hope, Essex. You will be responsible for creating a safe, therapeutic environment for young people aged 8‑18 with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and the Children’s Act.
• Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Maintain high standards of child protection, safeguarding, and health & safety.
• Manage budgets, occupancy, and performance targets, including bonus‑linked outcomes.
• Develop and implement therapeutic programmes that promote stability, self‑care skills and personal growth.
• Liaise with external agencies, schools and health professionals to coordinate care plans.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 months experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s home rated Good to Outstanding.
• At least two years senior‑level experience in a residential children’s setting.
• Proven experience working with children who have ADHD, learning and behavioural difficulties.
• Strong knowledge of children’s home regulations (2015), safeguarding procedures and the Children’s Act.
• Experience acting as a designated safeguarding lead is essential.
