Registered Manager – Children’s Home (Bristol)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a well‑established three‑bedroom children’s residential home in Bristol. The role involves delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care for a young person with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and driving continuous improvement across the service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Ofsted registration and ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational leadership, overseeing care planning, risk assessments, behaviour support strategies and placement stability.
• Lead, motivate, supervise and develop a dedicated residential care team, promoting a therapeutic, trauma‑informed approach.
• Manage staffing, budgets and resources effectively while monitoring quality assurance, audits and regulatory inspections.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
• Drive continuous improvement with the aim of achieving an Ofsted ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent Ofsted‑recognised qualification).
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Strong commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
