Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (EBD)

About the role

Lead the launch of Meadow House, a brand‑new 5‑bed residential home for children and young people aged 11‑17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Hither Green, South East London. As the Registered Manager you will be responsible for creating a safe, therapeutic environment and ensuring the service meets all regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and maintain ongoing compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing residential care team.
• Establish a child‑centred culture focused on outstanding outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Oversee safeguarding, care planning and delivery to ensure the highest standards of safety and wellbeing.
• Manage budgets, resources and financial performance of the home.
• Collaborate with professionals, families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for each child.
• Provide supervision, mentoring, performance management and professional development opportunities for staff.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced Registered Manager with a proven track record in children’s residential settings.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding best practice.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to build and sustain a high‑performing team.
• Experience working with young people who have Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
• Strong organisational, budgeting and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

What we offer

• Salary up to £70,000 per annum.
• £1,000 bonus on successful Ofsted registration and £5,000 bonus when the home reaches full occupancy.
