Registered Manager – Step up from Deputy Manager

About the role

We are opening a brand‑new children’s home in Taplow and are looking for an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to step up. You will lead the home from day one, shaping its culture, recruiting the team and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment for children.

Key responsibilities

• Register with Ofsted as the home’s Registered Manager and maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Provide strong leadership, supervise, mentor and develop a high‑performing residential team.
• Promote safeguarding, respect and stability, and ensure all staff understand their responsibilities.
• Manage budgets, resources and produce accurate records and reports.
• Build relationships with placing authorities, families, schools, health professionals and external agencies.
• Implement and review children’s care plans, prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an Ofsted‑regulated children’s residential setting.
• Previous experience as a Registered Manager or substantial Deputy Manager experience ready for registration.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or progressing towards it).
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care and achieving outstanding outcomes.
