Registered Manager – Therapeutic Children’s Home

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Ofsted Registered Manager (or Deputy Manager ready to step up) to launch and lead a brand‑new 3‑bed therapeutic children’s home in Sale, Manchester. You will shape the culture, recruit the team and ensure a safe, trauma‑informed environment for young people aged 7‑18 with emotional and behavioural needs.

Key responsibilities

• Register with Ofsted as the home’s Registered Manager and maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Lead the opening, daily operation and continuous improvement of the residential service.
• Recruit, train and inspire a skilled residential care team.
• Develop and monitor high‑quality, individualised care plans.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance processes.
• Manage budgets, staffing levels and regulatory reporting.
• Build partnerships with local authorities, schools, health professionals and families.
• Drive the home towards an Ofsted ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager or Deputy Manager ready for registration.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or progressing towards it).
• Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, quality standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a therapeutic, trauma‑informed service.
