Registered Nurse - Combined Day Unit (Chemotherapy)

About the role

We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the Combined Day Unit (CDU) at Royal Derby Hospital. The post supports chemotherapy services across multiple sites and offers a pathway for continuous professional development in cancer care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, compassionate nursing care in line with Trust and national policies.
• Administer systemic anti‑cancer treatments to haematology and oncology patients.
• Provide supportive therapies and manage blood product administration.
• Enhance the outpatient experience by working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in cross‑site work at RDH, QHB or FNCH as service demand requires.

Required profile

• Qualified Registered Nurse (Band 5) with registration on the NMC.
• Motivated, compassionate and eager to develop expertise in chemotherapy.
• Willingness to work across multiple hospital sites.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.

Required skills

• Administration of systemic anti‑cancer therapy.
• Supportive care delivery for oncology patients.
• Blood product handling and administration.
