Registered Nurse – Macmillan Team

About the role

The Macmillan multidisciplinary team at The Balfour is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients and support their families. This full‑time, permanent position involves leading the nursing care environment, especially when the senior nurse is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high standard of nursing care and manage the care environment.
• Share responsibility for resource management, leadership and education during shifts.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior nursing staff and unregistered team members.
• Collaborate with the Macmillan team to ensure care aligns with the NMC Code and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Teach, supervise and assess student nurses and junior staff, particularly when taking charge of a shift.

Required profile

• UK NMC‑registered nurse with strong listening and interpersonal abilities.
• Clear communicator who works collaboratively with patients, families and colleagues.
• Effective time‑management skills to prioritize workload in a busy clinical setting.
• Commitment to delivering safe, effective and high‑quality patient care.
