Registered Nurse/Paramedic – Forensic Custody (FT/PT)

About the role

Mountain Healthcare is recruiting Registered Nurses and Paramedics to work within police custody suites in Salfords, Guildford. You will provide autonomous, specialist healthcare to detainees, supporting their welfare, safeguarding and the wider criminal‑justice process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments to determine fitness for detention, interview, charge and release.
• Respond to acute medical episodes and provide immediate care.
• Collect and preserve forensic samples, document injuries and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Support safeguarding decisions and collaborate with police, NHS and partner agencies.
• Deliver health‑advice and liaise with custody teams on vulnerable or crisis‑situations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) or Paramedic qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an acute clinical setting.
• Ability to work independently and make rapid, evidence‑based decisions.
• Willingness to undergo full accredited forensic custody training.
