Registered Nurse/Paramedic – Forensic Custody – Maidenhead

About the role

Mountain Healthcare is recruiting Registered Nurses and Paramedics to work within police custody suites in Maidenhead. You will provide specialist healthcare to detainees, many of whom are vulnerable or in crisis, while supporting the wider criminal‑justice process. Full accredited training is provided, so no prior forensic or custody experience is required.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments to determine fitness for detention, interview, charge and release.
• Respond to acute medical episodes and provide immediate healthcare advice.
• Support safeguarding decisions and document injuries accurately.
• Collect and preserve forensic samples and maintain evidential records that meet legal standards.
• Work collaboratively with police officers, custody teams and partner agencies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) or Paramedic qualification.
• Minimum three years’ experience in an acute clinical setting.
• Ability to work autonomously and make rapid clinical decisions.
• Willingness to engage with vulnerable populations and uphold safeguarding duties.
