Registered Veterinary Nurse – Fixed-Term (12 months)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Speedwell practice in Bristol on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. You will work as an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care and supporting excellent client experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct nursing consultations, providing advice and support to clients.
• Assist veterinary surgeons with surgical procedures, including patient preparation, monitoring and recovery.
• Provide high‑quality inpatient and kennel care, ensuring patient comfort and welfare.
• Prepare patients, equipment and theatre for surgeries.
• Collaborate with the wider practice team to maintain clinical standards.

Required profile

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with current registration.
• Experience in a clinical veterinary practice, confident in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational abilities and capacity to manage workload effectively.
• Proactive attitude towards learning, reflection and continuous improvement.
