Relational Support Practitioner

About the role

New Start is seeking a Relational Support Practitioner to work on a 3‑days‑on, 3‑days‑off shift pattern at its Step‑down recovery service in Liverpool. You will support vulnerable adults and young people as they transition from intensive treatment to independent living, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and facilitate therapeutic support in an abstinence‑based setting.
• Assist service users in achieving personal goals and recovery targets.
• Manage the building’s safety, security and day‑to‑day operations.
• Collaborate with RISE partners (YMCA Together) to deliver trauma‑aware, psychologically informed programmes.
• Work a 3‑days‑on, 3‑days‑off roster (40.25 hours per week).

Required profile

• Previous experience in treatment and recovery services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support vulnerable males and females.
• Ability to work the specified shift pattern and maintain a safe living environment.
• Commitment to the principles of abstinence‑based recovery and trauma‑informed care.
