Relative Value/Macro Hedge Fund Associate (London)

About the role

J.P. Morgan Asset Management is seeking a motivated Associate to join its Relative Value/Macro Hedge Fund team in London. You will apply quantitative and qualitative expertise to enhance client hedge‑fund portfolios, working closely with a dedicated manager research group.

Key responsibilities

• Source and perform quantitative and qualitative due‑diligence on prospective Relative Value/Macro hedge‑fund investments.
• Analyse portfolio fit for new strategies and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Conduct ongoing monitoring of approved hedge‑fund managers, reviewing returns, attribution, risk sources and performance metrics.
• Produce formal written analysis and manage due‑diligence projects from start to completion.
• Perform ad‑hoc analytical work to support the Relative Value/Macro team.
• Help design and implement tools that improve team efficiency.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with experience in the investment‑management industry.
• Strong quantitative background and ability to assess hedge‑fund performance.
• Excellent written communication and project‑management skills.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for numerical modelling.
