Reliability Engineer – 18‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

KHR is partnering with a leading international manufacturing organisation to hire an experienced Reliability Engineer on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will support engineering and operations teams to improve asset reliability, develop maintenance strategies and drive continuous improvement across a complex plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Lead root‑cause investigations for recurring equipment failures and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Provide cover for the plant Mechanical Engineer when required.
• Coordinate condition‑monitoring activities such as vibration, oil, thermal imaging and lubrication programmes.
• Collaborate with maintenance planning to keep schedules, spare parts and Bills of Materials accurate.
• Conduct equipment criticality assessments and define appropriate maintenance strategies.
• Deliver engineering improvement projects that enhance reliability, safety and performance.
• Analyse equipment data using SAP PM and other maintenance systems to identify trends.
• Maintain engineering standards, technical documentation and ISO‑aligned procedures.
• Support Management of Change, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Provide technical support during planned shutdowns and join the on‑call rota for critical plant issues.

Required profile

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing or process environment.
• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Experience leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
