Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor – South West (Bristol)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Relief Concrete Plant Supervisor to support multiple ready‑mix concrete plants across the South West, based around Bristol. You will oversee the production of high‑quality concrete, ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met, and travel between sites as required.
Key responsibilities
- Operate computerised batching systems to produce concrete to customer specifications.
- Assist Production Managers with day‑to‑day running of several plants.
- Carry out daily inspections of safety‑critical equipment.
- Operate loading shovels to replenish aggregate stock.
- Monitor stock levels and order raw materials when needed.
- Manage safe movement of mixers, tippers and cement tankers on site.
- Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely.
- Complete environmental compliance checks and maintain records.
- Drive housekeeping standards and perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Coach operational teams and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all sites.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a concrete plant, quarry, manufacturing or heavy‑industrial environment.
- Good mechanical and/or electrical understanding of plant machinery.
- Proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to travel across multiple South West sites.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).

- £38,000 – £38,500 annual salary
- Permanent, full‑time role (48‑hour week)
- Time‑and‑a‑half for hours worked over 48 per week
