About the role
Join Abbeyfield Living Society as a relief staff member, providing essential cooking, housekeeping, and resident support in a sheltered housing setting. This flexible, zero‑hours position allows you to make a real difference in the lives of older residents while enjoying a varied work schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious, home‑cooked meals for residents, maintaining food stock and proper rotation.
- Act as the first point of contact for residents, offering friendly assistance with daily needs.
- Keep communal areas clean, tidy, and well‑maintained to ensure a comfortable environment.
- Promote residents' wellbeing by fostering a respectful, empowering, and connected community atmosphere.
Required profile
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Two satisfactory employment references.
- Basic DBS check (cost covered by Abbeyfield).
Required skills
- Cooking and meal preparation.
- Housekeeping and cleaning of shared spaces.
- Resident support and effective communication.
